Late for the Party...

I feel a little late to the party, but I am finally jumping on board with this blogging thing..  I thought I would start this off by introducing myself and my family.  I am starting this blog as a diary of our daily lives.  I don't ever want to forget our simple life, and I want my kids to be able to look back one day and have the story of their childhood at their fingertips.  What am I kidding, blogging will be so outdated by the time they "want" to read this.  Screw it, this is the blog of our lives...

It's hard to describe who we are.  We are your normal boring family, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  My name is Mom Mom (Kelly), and I just turned the dirty 30 in January.  I've been married to Dan for 6 years, he truly makes me happy every day.  Don't get me wrong, he pisses me off every day too, but when I go to bed at night I am so happy we are on this wild journey together.  We met in college, and started off as friends that liked to go to out to bars together and hang out.  We started dating exclusively and about a month later he left for Cali for the entire summer.  I decided that I missed him and wanted to see where things were going, so I went and spent 7 days in Cali with him.  Bad idea...the whole time I was there his ex kept calling (like over and over and over all day long), and we fought the ENTIRE time (mostly about the ex calling all the time). The funny thing was when I got back I missed him like crazy, and that's when I knew I was going to marry him, the rest is history.  We have two kids, E-Man and Sweets...I don't even know how to explain them... E-Man is wild.  He is going 100 MPH at all times of the day.  He is 2 1/2 and refuses to nap, use the bathroom, and eat anything remotely good for him, but I sure do love how funny and energetic he is.  Sweets is 1 1/2 (yes, our kids at only a year apart, another blog for another day!) and a DIVA!  Holy cow, we are going to have our hands full with her.  She thinks everyone should bow down to her and give her everything she wants, and we usually do!  But, she has the biggest heart and loves anything and everything unconditionally.  We also have a chihuahua, Walter, don't break in to our house, he is a beast!  He's 7 years old and the best watchdog you've ever heard...seriously though, let me know before you come over, he will actually attack you.

I am a teacher, and I absolutely love my job!  I was lucky enough to get to spend the year off with my kids last year, and I found out that I am NOT the stay at home mom.  I was stressed, tired, cranky, and stinky (it's weird how often I didn't shower when I didn't have to go anywhere!)  While I enjoyed the time at home with no schedule and the freedom to go to Target every single day, I wanted to be back at school so bad.  While I hate getting up in the morning, I love my day at school with my 18 third graders.
I am also a new runner...I love it once I get past the first couple miles. Ha!  No really, I do love it.  I love to clear my head and listen to my teen pop songs that I'm too embarrassed to listen to in the car with Dan.  I have only ran a few races, and I just got my first treadmill for Christmas, but my favorite runs are outside in our neighborhood when no one is around and I can run my same boring route at my own speed and pace.  Dan is a runner too, but for some reason, he can run way faster and way more miles than me without even training...ass!  We are planning on a 1/2 marathon this fall, and the Warrior Dash in a month...shit

That about sums us up...I can't wait to get my stories out on here, so that when E-Man and Sweets are 30 years old they can look back at all of our stories as a wildly crazy happy family.
